Elsie Colleen

Two new babies to love!

It has been a blessed week in our family with the arrival of Elsie Colleen on Sunday, the same day that Asa Peter came home from NICU!  That makes eight precious grandchildren to love and enjoy!
It’s easy to find pleasure in a newborn but I remind parents to remain fully engaged and enjoy every stage of a child’s life, because all too quickly they will grow up and have children of their own!  My husband and I are blessed to be able to walk with all of our adult children as they parent our grandchildren; they are finding (as most parents have) that being an involved parent matures the parent as much – if not more –  than the child. God certainly used Erin, Troy and Alisa to change  me in ways that nothing else could and they continue to be a catalyst for refinement in my life.  I am still growing up and I pray that never ends!

Haddie's brother has finally come home.

As grandparents, Glen and I take seriously our roles in the training up of our grandchildren from a state of newborn innocence all the way to adults with pure hearts.  To that end, I began a series titled “From Innocence to Purity” a few weeks back. (which was put on hold in order to  hold my new grand babies!) This series will continue next week however and through the month of June.

A babe in the house is a well-spring of pleasure, a messenger of peace and love, a resting place for innocence on earth, a link between angels and men.”
