“Come to Me, all of you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
“Nothing is as important as to keep right spiritually. The great solution is the simple one – come to Me. The depth of our reality, intellectually, morally and spiritually, is tested by these words. In every degree in which we are not real, we will dispute rather than come.”
It’s the end of the school year. Parents and students alike are weary! In a few days I plan to post an article about including purpose into the “lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer,” but today I wish to share with you a poem, authored by Desiree Steele that she recently posted on Face book. It uplifted and encouraged me and I pray it will do the same for you. Thank you Desiree, for allowing the Lord to speak through you!
If you are waiting to see if I will mess up, well I have.
If you are looking to see if I will lose my joy, well I have.
If you are waiting to see if I will get weary, well I have.
If you are looking to see if I will gossip, well I have.
If you are waiting to see if I will give into sin, well I have.
If you are waiting to see if this Christian life is for real, well it is because…
My mess ups have become my step ups.
My loss of joy has become my reminder that I know where my joy comes from.
My weariness has become my sense of strength that comes from the Father.
My flapping tongue has become tamed by the Holy Spirit.
My sin has become a marker to God’s grace and mercy.
My Jesus is real and if you don’t know Him, He wants to become real to you today.
